The mentoring programme receives support to continue in the next year
The fundraising event hosted by the British Ambassador to Bulgaria Dr Rob Dixon, organised in cooperation with our key partners the British Bulgarian Business Association and the British Council Sofia proved to be successful and with inspiring presentation of the programme’s achievements.
The BCA Chair Sophia Kassidova pointed out that the programme continued for the fifth consecutive year, four mentoring terms and thanked for the support. The BCA Shapers of Tomorrow lead Roumiana Atanassova presented the achievements of the programme and shared how the innovative programme inspires young university graduates to achieve their full potential. Dessislava Miteva, BBBA Executive Director, talked about the successful partnership and her experience as a mentor. Yordan Vassilev from Dancho Industries, Shapers of Tomorrow mentor from the very beginning of the programme, underlined that the mentor-mentee relation is enriching both for mentors and mentees. Goran Angelov, IBS executive pointed out that this time donation is worth, making a difference. The story, shared by the mentor Georgi Georgiev, about helping his mentee Martin Kirilov to achieve his dream university admission was moving. “The programme changed my perspective as a university lecturer and enabled me to shift my focus to how our students achieve their professional realisation following their graduation”, said
Plamen Ralchev, BCA Board Member and mentor of Lyubomir Nikiforov, who confessed that the programme had helped him immensely in the beginning of his PhD journey.
Diana Miteva, Executive Director of DSK Bank shared her experience as a mentor in another programme and the importance of mentor-mentee relation, and expressed willingness for future cooperation.
The UK Alumni club, CSR.bg and Confindustria expressed an interest in cooperation for the programme implementation.
The event opened new opportunities for cooperation and marked the beginning of the next stage of the programme, with support from the Bulgarian business community.
